Licensing questions
Choose Buy on this page. Pro and Integrator are sold through Paddle, which handles payment, tax and your receipt. After payment your license key and a download link for your edition are sent to your purchase email.
Yes. Commercial use is permitted on every plan, including Free. Free is a working installation, not a trial or an evaluation license: each installation monitors one site with up to five cameras, and you may install it as many times as you need, with no license and no account. Paid editions buy higher limits and more capability, not permission.
Outbound alerts and higher limits. Monitoring itself is not held back: Free checks your cameras on a schedule, opens and resolves incidents on its own, and keeps the incident and health history behind them. What Free does not do is send anything out — email and signed webhook delivery, and the delivery history that records each attempt, are what Pro and Integrator add. Pro covers one installation with up to 10 sites and 100 cameras; Integrator covers up to five separate installations.
A single payment for the edition. There is no subscription, no renewal and no expiry: once activated, a license keeps working on that server, with or without an internet connection, and every 1.x update is included. The Terms of Service set this out in full.
On your own server, as a Docker Compose stack. That is true of every edition; there is no hosted option.
Five separate OpticWatch installations, each with its own server, its own database and its own login — typically one per customer. Each of those installations may hold up to 500 cameras and any number of sites on its own; the allowance is not a pooled fleet. There is no shared dashboard across them, no cross-customer view and no multi-tenancy. Integrator is about how many installations one license covers, not about running several customers inside one.
Install the paid build from your download link, then enter your license key under Settings, License. Your server contacts the licensing service only to activate or deactivate; after that the license works offline. To move to another server, deactivate on the old one first, then activate the same key on the new one.
OpticWatch is self-hosted, so your database and monitoring history are on your own infrastructure and remain there. A license never expires, and nothing is withheld remotely.
One site and five cameras on your own server, with no license and no account. Move to Pro or Integrator when you need alerts or more cameras.
