Requirements

  • A 64-bit Intel or AMD (x86-64) computer, ideally an always-on Linux server. This release is an x86-64 build with no native ARM64 version; it has not been tested on ARM, including through Docker's emulation, so ARM is not a supported configuration. See ARM computers.
  • Docker Engine 24 or newer with the Compose plugin (docker compose).
  • Network access from the server to your cameras.

Install

  1. Extract the archive

tar -xzf opticwatch-free-v1.1.1.tar.gz, then change into the folder it creates.

  2. Start it

Run docker compose up -d. There is nothing to configure first: OpticWatch creates its own database password and encryption key on the first start.

  3. Create the administrator

Open http://<your server>:38080 in a browser and create the administrator account.

New to Docker? The installation guide walks through every step on Windows, macOS and Linux. The README.md inside the archive is the full reference, with exact commands, HTTPS, backups and upgrades.
